Several publications publish the load-carrying capacity of vehicles. Consumer Report, for example, covers nearly every vehicle on the road. When looking at purchasing a new vehicle, especially one that you want to haul cargo in, you must be aware of the load carrying capacity of the vehicle so you can make an intelligent decision as to your purchase.

The key factor when looking at your load carrying capacity is the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR). You can find the GVWR on the door jamb under the tire section. Subtract the weight of the vehicle form the GVWR, and you have the answer to how much cargo weight the vehicle can carry. Remember, the cargo weight includes the weight of your passengers.

Come to Griffin Kia and check out the GVWR of the SUVs on our lot.
